Steel butterfly sculpture common blue butterfly WM137

The common blue butterfly is made from steel. The wings are painted in various shades of blue, detailed in orange markings and edged with a delicate white band.   Underneath the butterfly is brown with orange markings.

Butterflies have a magical presence when they change from a caterpillar into a butterfly, they are graceful and beautiful with vibrant colours and markings on delicate wings.   I have tried to capture some of these features in each of my butterfly sculptures.

The butterfly is is 11cm (4 1/4 inches) wide, 9cm (3 1/2 inches) long and 4.5cm (1 3/4 inches) high.
